KRMail is an email application and mail service provided by KRIBSTECH.
1. Information we handle
Depending on the features you use, KRMail processes:
- Account information such as your name, email address, mailbox identifiers and organisation or domain details.
- Email information including senders, recipients, subject lines, message bodies, attachments, inline images, timestamps, folders and message flags.
- Contacts you create or maintain in KRMail. KRMail does not automatically upload your entire device address book.
- Signatures, drafts, account preferences, filter rules and other settings you choose to save.
- Authentication information needed to access a mailbox, including session tokens and IMAP/SMTP credentials or app passwords you provide.
- Operational information such as connection IP addresses, authentication events, delivery or import status, error logs and application version information used for update checks.
KRMail handles files or clipboard content only when you attach, paste, import, export or download it. Spreadsheet cells pasted into a message may be converted into an image for that message.
2. How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts; send, receive and display email; synchronise folders and message status; maintain contacts, signatures and drafts; import mail when requested; manage mailbox storage and account settings; provide updates and support; and investigate delivery failures, abuse or security incidents.
3. KRMail-hosted and third-party accounts
For KRMail-hosted accounts, email and related account information are processed by KRMail backend services and stored in the databases and file or object storage used to operate the service.
For third-party IMAP/SMTP accounts, the app uses the server settings and credentials you supply to connect to the selected provider. External account configurations and credentials are saved using supported device secure-storage mechanisms. Your provider processes email under its own privacy policy and terms.
If you use mail import or migration, selected messages and attachments may be copied from your previous provider into KRMail storage. Disconnecting the source account does not automatically delete mail already imported into KRMail.
4. Storage on your device
KRMail can store account settings, session tokens, drafts and related working data on your device. Downloaded, exported or backed-up files may remain in Downloads, Documents, an app folder or another location you select.
Removing an account from the app disconnects it from that installation. It does not automatically delete the provider mailbox, downloaded files, exported backups, recipient copies or all information stored on KRMail servers.
6. Security
KRMail uses authentication, access controls and supported device secure-storage facilities. Connections are designed to use HTTPS/TLS for API access and secure IMAP/SMTP settings for email accounts. Security also depends on the configured provider, server certificates, device and network.
KRMail does not provide a general guarantee of end-to-end encryption for email. Mail servers and recipients involved in delivery may process message content, and no software, device or network can guarantee absolute security.
7. Retention and deletion
Hosted email and account information are retained while required to provide your mailbox and related services, subject to your organisation's configuration and applicable obligations. Drafts, downloads and exports on your device can remain until you remove them.
Deleting a message may move it to Trash rather than permanently erase it. Removing an account from the app is different from requesting deletion of a hosted account. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of KRMail-hosted account information. Organisation-managed requests may require administrator authorisation and we may verify your identity.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs or records that must be retained. Copies held by recipients and external providers are outside KRMail's direct control.
8. Your choices
You choose which accounts to connect, which messages and files to send, and whether to use import or export features. You can manage saved accounts, contacts, signatures and drafts in the app and revoke provider credentials or app passwords where supported.
Requests concerning a third-party mailbox should be directed to that provider. Available privacy rights and responses may depend on your location and account arrangements.
9. Children
KRMail is intended for general email and business communication and is not specifically directed at children. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information through KRMail without appropriate authorisation.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The current policy and effective date will remain available at https://blog.krmail.in/privacy. Material changes will be communicated where required.
